The implication of these lines, as one commentator put it, is clear: there are two categories of state: “The sovereign and the conquered. Because there is no in-between, no intermediate state: either a country is sovereign, or it is a colony, no matter what the colonies are called.” More than focus on particular issues (is Russia really just “returning”, and to what?) we should read carefully Putin’s general justification of his claim: “In order to claim some kind of leadership – I am not even talking about global leadership, I mean leadership in any area – any country, any people, any ethnic group should ensure their sovereignty. There is no longer any need to read between the lines when Putin compares himself with Peter the Great: “On the face of it, he was at war with Sweden taking something away from it … He was not taking away anything, he was returning … He was returning and reinforcing, that is what he was doing … Clearly, it fell to our lot to return and reinforce as well.” In what looks more and more as a protracted stalemate, Russia is slowly progressing, and its ultimate goal is clearly stated. For self-publishers, readers expect a table of contents in their ebooks that is clickable, and most retailers of ebooks, Amazon included, require hyperlinking.Every graduate student will agree that any time saved is golden! ![]() For dissertation and thesis writers, not only will creating a linked table of contents make navigating your document easier for users but the table of contents will be more easily updatable as you revise your content. This is where hyperlinking in Microsoft Word becomes important. I have been getting predictable results on all my PCs with it, it has survived Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1, and all of Win 10─both before and after the day when Win 10 suddenly caused the internet to stop working everywhere around the entire globe. Personally, I, moved from VLC to MPC-HC around the time when Win 7 came out, almost 11 years and a half ago, and started using K-Lite Codec Pack soon after that. If I change the aspect ratio, it wont play on my pc.But, if you change the aspect ratio, then can the MKV file be played on your PC in MPC-HC, or does the issue affect both Potplayer and MPC-HC? Also, if you prefer MPC-HC over Potlayer like you previously said, then I'm not quite sure I understand why you are using Potplayer. If I change the aspect ratio, it wont play on my pc. However, I will install K-Lite on my PC and see if the file plays via potplayer after changing the aspect ratio. Potplayer installs "opencodec" as part of its installation. Then I changed the aspect ratio and it wouldn't play on my PC. I re-ripped the movie and it played fine. Since then (2014), I've never had a problem. Switching to pot player resolved all of those issues. On the 10 PCs the only problems I've ever had with playing media were with VLC. With the exception of games, the software use is pretty much identical. We do use Netflix, and twitch and others but only on specific PCs. I don't allow streaming over the network. The clue was in the word "streaming" and I missed it. And they'd just say "if it works on 2 of 3 PCs it must be your PC not the potplayer that's at fault". For playback of files that either are made accessible over a network share or are available from the local storage, the only true advantage of VLC is that all popular codecs are embedded in it. VLC stuttered, crashed, froze and was generally a nightmare when multiple people wanted to watch something. What I meant to say is, VLC is great for streaming real-time captured video (like from a video capture card or from a webcam) over a network, at least if you can walk the extra mile of setting it up right, because it can tend to be quirky otherwise. |
